<p>心里想着这个网站也不容易，大家几乎都在用，并且也就 2.75 美元，还是给了吧。</p>

<p>实际上，并不是 2.75 美元，而是 3.10 美元。多给的 0.35 我忘了是什么东西的费用了。不过为了方便叙述，以下还是称为 2.75 美元。</p>
<p>总之要了钱后，它还问我可不可以每个月都捐款 1.75 美元。因为不是什么大数目，我觉得问题不大，便同意了。</p>
<p>早上起来脑子清醒了一点，想要知道其他人的看法。结果看到了 <a target="_blank" rel="noopener" href="https://www.zhihu.com/question/34465982/answer/2773335209">这篇文章</a> 后，一下子便后悔了。实在是不能冲动消费啊！</p>
<p>首先，这笔钱并没有流向我想象中那个「苦哈哈、用爱发电」的小作坊。</p>
<p>收到捐款的是<span class="emphasis">维基百科基金会</span>。与许多人的直觉相反，这绝非一个濒临破产的组织，而是一个坐拥数亿美元资产、每年收入远超支出的庞大机构。</p>
<p>根据 Daily Dot 的 <a target="_blank" rel="noopener" href="https://www.dailydot.com/news/wikipedia-endownemnt-fundraising/">报道</a>，维基媒体基金会总资金约为 3 亿美元（截至 2023 年），并在 2023 年前 9 个月就筹集了 1.42 亿美元，远超任何历史年份。</p>
<p>它们并不缺我这几块钱来救命，甚至可以说，它们的现金流比绝大多数科技公司都要健康。</p>
<p>既然不缺钱，为什么还要表现得如此窘迫？</p>
<p>他们通过 A / B 测试发现，这种带有强烈危机感、暗示「不捐款明天就关服」的文案，配合巨大的、遮挡视线的 Banner，转化率最高。尤其是在每年年底的「筹款季」，通过制造焦虑来收割用户的善意，已经成为了一套成熟的商业逻辑。</p>
<p>我这种铁公鸡也会捐款的话，看来确实如此。</p>
<p>借用那篇文章里的图片，这个让我掏钱的「情感勒索」界面，大概长这样：</p>

<p>事实上，这种营销方式连他们自己的社区都看不下去了。</p>
<p>2022 年，英文维基百科 Village Pump 就进行过一次 <a target="_blank" rel="noopener" href="https://lists.wikimedia.org/hyperkitty/list/wikimedia-l@lists.wikimedia.org/thread/YKYDOBBH2RHJO2DHNP4YEPH37J3L5PBH/">社区投票</a>。志愿者以压倒性多数认为基金会的筹款邮件 <strong>不道德且具有误导性</strong>。具体的批评包括：筹款横幅主要宣传「维基百科」而非「维基媒体基金会」，容易导致捐赠者误认为所有捐款直接用于维持网站运营。</p>
<p>更让我感到被欺骗的，是这笔资金的去向。</p>
<p>作为一个普通用户，我天真地以为我的捐款会变成服务器的电费、或者是带宽的租金。然而真相是，维持网站运行的硬件成本只占基金会支出的极小部分（约为 5%）。</p>
<p>根据基金会公开的财报和过往争议来看，资金中相当大的一部分主要用于数百名员工的薪资与福利，以及规模可观的软件开发和法律相关开支，另外也有一部分投向以多元与包容为目标的项目；至于这些支出的效率如何、是否带有明显的政治取向，则在不同观察者之间存在较大分歧。</p>
<p>我并不心疼钱，但我希望我的善意不被滥用。</p>
<p>如果他们诚实地坦白「我们需要钱来扩大团队规模、做更多包容性项目」，<strong>我是绝对不会捐款的</strong> —— 因为那不是我的义务。但他们选择了暗示「没钱就关服」，这就是对「日行一善」这种朴素心理的精准收割，本质上就是欺诈。</p>
<p>更深层的裂痕在于立场。作为一个中国用户，我意识到我正在资助的这个组织，在对待中文社区时不仅缺乏公正，甚至带有明显的政治偏见与傲慢。</p>
<p>2021 年 9 月 13 日，维基媒体基金会对中文维基百科进行了规模前所未有的行动：禁制了 7 名用户，撤销了 12 名管理员的权限，其中包括中文维基百科十大活跃管理员中的四位。理由是深入调查中国大陆维基人用户组后认为他们存在「渗透」风险，甚至可能对其他编辑者造成恐吓与起底的威胁，并试图在与中国相关的条目中施加不当影响。</p>
<p>实际上又如何呢？指控被公开报道了，<strong>具体证据却从未向公众公开</strong>；外界只能看到基金会的结论，而无法看到调查过程或原始材料。与此同时，被封禁者否认这些指控，并批评基金会的程序不透明。这使得整个事件至今仍充满争议。</p>
<p>用我的钱，去供养一个对我所在社群并不友好的管理层，这才是最荒谬的地方。</p>
<p>所谓「失去」的 2.75 美元，对于财大气粗的基金会来说九牛一毛；我没有从中得到任何增值服务，毕竟维基百科本来就是免费的。</p>
<p>真要说得到了什么，大概就是一个教训：<strong>不要被互联网上的「弱者叙事」轻易绑架</strong>。当然，可能还附赠了一堆基于我捐款数据而生成的后续催捐邮件。</p>
<p>为了不再继续这种无意义的供养，我立刻去取消了那个顺手勾选的「月付」计划。虽然目前还没有收到确认回复（可能是赶上节假日效率低下），但态度必须摆出来。</p>
<p>写下这篇文章，也是希望提醒大家：爱维基百科的内容，不代表要无脑供养基金会。在按下支付键之前，先搞明白你的善意到底喂给了谁。</p>
